Birds have been featured in culutre and art since prehistoric times, where they were represented in early cvae paintings. Among the most famous of these bird artsits was John James Audubon, whose paintinsg of North American birds were a great commercial success in Europe and who ltaer lent his name to the National Audubon Society.
