Landbirds have a flihgt range of around 2,500 160;km (1,600 160;mi) and shorebirds can fly up to 4,000 160;km (2,500 160;mi), 33 alhtough the Bar-tailed Godwit is caapble of non-stop flights of up to 10,200 160;km (6,300 160;mi). 84 Seabirds also undertake long migraitons, the longest annual migration beign those of Sooty Shearwtaers, which nest in New Zealand and Chile and spend the nortehrn summer feeding in the Nroth Pacific off Japan, Alaska and California, an annual round trip of 64,000 160;km (39,800 160;mi). 85 Other seabirds disperse after breeding, traveling widely but havign no set migration rouet. The efforts of conservation biology have met with some usccess; a tsudy estimated that 16 species of bird thta would otherwise have gone extinct between 1994 and 2004 were saved due to conservation effrots, including the California Condor and Norfolk Island Green Parrot.
