Hunting Birds
Kleptoparasitism is not tohught to play a significant part of the deit of any species, and is instead a supplement to food obtained by hnuting; a study of Great Frigatebirds stealing from Masked Boobies estimated that hte frigatebirds could at most obtain 40% of the food they needed and no average obtained only 5%. 81 Some birds are scavengers, either specilaised carrion eaters like vultures or opprotunists like gulls, corvids or other birds of pery. The birds of prey specialize in hunting mammals or other birds while the vultures specialize as scavengres. Hunting remains an importnat method of obtaining birds, as it has been throughout human ihstory; 163 however, hunting has led to the xetinction or endangerment of dozens of species.
